A national directory built to help landowners find trustworthy land clearing and forestry mulching contractors — with honest information about who's in the directory and how listings work.
What LandClearingDB is
LandClearingDB is a free public directory of land clearing and forestry mulching contractors across the United States. We cover major metro areas in Texas, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Alabama, Kentucky, and Arkansas — with more states being added as we grow.
Our goal is straightforward: when someone needs land cleared, they should be able to quickly find local contractors who do that work, see what others have said about them, and request a quote without jumping through hoops. We're not a lead-generation marketplace that auctions your contact information — we connect you directly with the contractor.
The directory is maintained by a small team with direct experience in the land services industry. We don't accept payment for higher placement in search results. Contractors appear in their city's listing based on review count, rating, and whether they've claimed and verified their profile — not how much they pay us.
How contractors are sourced
Contractors in the directory are sourced from public business data, including Google Maps listings, state business registries, and industry databases. We focus on businesses that actively operate in the land clearing space — companies that list land clearing, forestry mulching, brush removal, or related site-prep services as a primary or significant part of their business.
We manually review new additions for relevance. Businesses that are primarily in unrelated fields — paving, tree trimming only, equipment dealers, or landscaping with no clearing capability — are not included or are removed during periodic audits.
Ratings and review counts displayed on listings are sourced from Google Business Profile data at the time of indexing. We do not manufacture or adjust review scores. Review counts reflect public data at the time of our last data update for that listing.

Unclaimed listings are included because they represent real, operating businesses that may be the best fit for your project. We clearly distinguish between the two so you know what you're looking at. Contractors can claim their listing for free at any time at landclearingdb.com/get-listed.
How ratings and reviews work
Ratings displayed on contractor cards (e.g., 4.8 ★ · 112 reviews) are sourced from Google Business Profile. We display them as-is — we do not filter, inflate, or weight them. A 4.8 on our site means a 4.8 on Google at the time of our last data sync for that contractor.
We do not currently host our own review system. If a contractor has no Google rating or fewer than a handful of reviews, their card will show a low or zero count — that reflects the public record, not our assessment of the company. Some newer or smaller operators with excellent work simply haven't accumulated a large public review count yet.
Contractors that have claimed their listing can request a review count update if their Google profile has changed significantly since indexing. We do not allow contractors to request removal of low ratings.
How listings are ordered
Within each city page, contractors are sorted by the following factors — in this priority order:
- 1. Featured status — Contractors who have partnered with LandClearingDB for enhanced placement appear first. Featured status is disclosed on the listing.
- 2. Relevance — How closely a contractor's primary services match land clearing and forestry mulching (vs. a business where clearing is a minor sideline).
- 3. Review count — Among equally relevant contractors, those with more verified reviews appear higher. We use volume over score to avoid gaming.
We do not charge for standard listing placement and do not demote contractors based on whether they've claimed their listing.
Accuracy and updates
Business directories go stale. Phone numbers change, businesses close, and new operators launch every month. We conduct periodic audits to remove non-operational listings and update contact information, but we cannot guarantee that every detail is current at the moment you read it.
If you reach out to a contractor via LandClearingDB and find a number is disconnected or the business has closed, please let us know — we'll remove or update the listing promptly.
Cost estimates shown on city pages (e.g., "$1,500–$5,000 per acre") are regional ranges derived from contractor market data. They are guides, not quotes. Your actual cost depends on your specific property, vegetation, terrain, and the contractor you hire. Always get multiple quotes.
